I am a co-owner and portrait photographer. My love of art and photography started
at an early age, as a child my imagination was an uncontainable force of nature.
By the age of five my mother enrolled me into private art lessons that helped me
discover and uncoil the fabulous artist within me. In high school I took every art
class that was available, this is when I stumbled across a 35 mm camera; this opened
a fantastic new spectrum of artistic sunshine on my life. I was just amazed in the
process of making memories. My artistic ability had begun to shine, I had found my
place in life. I spent all of my free time in a 10x10 dark room experimenting with
images and processing techniques. Photography 101 was the only photography class
that my school offered, so after consulting my art instructor she came up with a
plan specifically for me, offering me a personalized Photography 102 class, and an
Advanced Photography class. After I had completed my program she noticed that my
desire to learn about photography wasn’t just a hobby, she had arranged for me to
take on an internship at a local newspaper, this was the perfect career path for
me. In my senior year I was offered a scholarship to attend Moore College of Art
and Design in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Soon after that I had my first daughter
Elly, and I decided to slow my life down a bit. I started working at a high-end retail
portrait studio, the studio manager made it his goal to take me under his wing and
teach me everything that he knew. After he moved on, I took over as the studio manager
and my learning of digital photography began. I was trained in San Francisco, California
on many major brands of photography equipment. After seven years of hard work and
the birth of my second daughter Myah, I just couldn’t keep up with the stressful
corporate environment of that particular studio. Once I made the scary decision to
leave my job I finally, after dreaming about opening my own studio for years, was
given the opportunity to do so, and I just did it! I have never been happier! The
beauty of having my own studio is that I can finally give my clients exactly what
they are looking for, custom, one of a kind portraits that will last forever.
